At the heart of her work is a simple belief. Where a person lives should never determine the quality of diagnostic care they receive.
That belief drives everything she does, from advancing diagnostic imaging and developing healthcare professionals to influencing policy, contributing African-led research and advocating for better access to quality diagnostics.
Because better diagnostics don’t just produce better images. They give doctors the clarity to act sooner and patients the answers that can change their lives.
Dr. Segwe believes progress happens when we're willing to question what exists today and imagine what could be better tomorrow. That is why her work reaches far beyond the radiology room.

Leadership That Challenges What is Possible
As co-founder of the Centre of Medical Imaging (CMI), Dr. Segwe has helped build one of South Africa’s most advanced multidisciplinary diagnostic imaging practices under one roof. She is also a regular conference speaker and served as Chair of the Africa Health Congress 2025.
But titles are not what drive her. Dr. Segwe refuses to accept that today’s standard of diagnostic healthcare is as good as it can be. She continues to question, innovate, and collaborate to create better outcomes for patients, healthcare professionals, and communities.
Moreover, through all the technology, research, and progress, she never loses sight of what matters most:

Showing Young People What’s Possible
Sometimes changing the future starts by helping a young person see themselves differently. Through Impact for Good, a non-profit initiative, Dr. Segwe and her team visit schools to inspire young people to consider careers in medicine and healthcare.
The goal is bigger than career guidance. It is about making possibility feel real. Dr. Segwe wants young South Africans, whatever their background, to grow up believing that becoming a doctor, specialist, scientist, entrepreneur or healthcare leader is something they can genuinely aspire to.
